I generally like your spite but I don't think it's warranted in this case. Very sad to hear this. :(

Nah.

Kim works her ass off but I think she is just tired.

They don't make as much as they used to as younger generations find new spots to pregame and go.

The last time I went was after the rain-out on Opening Day. I'm glad I made it there one last time for a veal cutlet and a can of Bud. Another one bites the dust. I still miss the Glass Dome Hickory Pit and the Stock Yard Inn.

Hickory Pit was the best. only place still around from the old days that is true to the quality of the food is Ricobenies.

What would it take for the CFMB Sox subforum to keep this place alive?

Compares to Riccos',awww hell no. Plus portions got smaller and more expensive. If the City wanted to fix its budget all it would have to do is ticket all the fucking jackasses double parking in front of that place, including the squad cars

I saw they got a sad quote from Elmer for the Tribune story.

Incidentally, a while ago I was talking to Elmer and he was lamenting about how the younger kids don't start the night at Shinnick's the way he and his crew did when they were young. He said, "You know, we'd go downtown too, but we always started and usually ended right here."

It's true.

The kids love going outside the neighborhood. It's been that way for a while.

Shinnick's will still get a decent crowd for an event, and they've attracted new people to the bar through social media.
