Playing pretty well tonight. He's a better rebounder than I thought he would be, which still surprises me.

He has been better in the second half, but in the first half he was 1-9 from the field, including 1-7 from three point land. He was the reason the bulls weren't scoring early.

He rebounds just fine.

He looks good. Lotta skill for a white 7 footer.

Sometimes the shot isn't falling, regardless of how good the player is. When that happens you want to see him contributing in other ways. He's done that. I'd like to see him take it off the dribble more though.

Not super athletic, but quite skillful. (athletic enough)

We need to find Markkanen a real PG asap.

Does he have his first NBA assist yet?

Got one today, but if we are nitpicking his assist ability already then ltg has won this debate officially.

You might not realize this but I hate black holes on offense. When 9 players on the court know a player is going to shoot it, good things don't happen.

He's not really a black hole though. He's not shy about shooting obviously, which is a good thing, but he's moving the ball around well and touching it most possessions.

You and I both hated the pick and both like being right. I'd be first in line saying I told you so if he was shitty but I've watched most of all the games so far and he's good. He's got a lot to work on but there's not much to criticize so far.

I've only seen 2 games but I haven't seen him display any low post moves. But Olajowan had none until he started working out with Moses Malone. It takes time to adjust to the NBA game. He will improve.

I don't want Ryan Anderson. I've watched the games too.

don't forget, Ryan is pretty athletic too. I don't know why they couldn't have traded up for Fox. That's who I wanted.

Maybe teams did not want to trade?

Always easy to trade from a fan perspective

A Ryan anderson who grabbed double digit boards a game and could beat people off the dribble and finish at the hoop would be an awesome player.

Ryan Anderson comp is just bad. He is taller more athletic and handles the ball better already. He will be a better player than Ryan Anderson barring injury. This is looking like he should have been top 2 or 3 pick in the draft. He is a player

Nah the Anderson comp is solid but obviously he's a lot better rebounder. You seem stuck on the name but forget that and look at what I'm actually saying. A Ryan Anderson who averaged double digit boards a game would be a multi year all star. It's not an insult.

They both settle for 3s more than anything else and are very good shooters, but can take it off the dribble if necessary but prefer not to. Markkanen seems to play closer to the basket defensively, which would account for the big gap in rebounding. It's not that far off.

In a theoretical redraft he doesn't go above guys like Lonzo, Fox, Smith Jr, or Tatum, imo. Not sure on Fultz, Jackson, Isaac, etc but he probably goes above the last two at least.

He's been good so far. It's a pleasant surprise. Hope it continues.

To be clear, the taller better rebounding RA comp is right now through 4 games, not what I expect him to be for his career. I believe/hope he will add a lot more to his offensive arsenal and rim protecting.

Why the Giannis hate, dude? Guy starts his finger rolls from half court.

Right now the plan should be to optimize cap space for the summer of 21 when Giannis is a FA.

I like Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Players IMU likes: well rounded players: Fowler, Butler, Saad, AP

Players IMU dislikes: one dimensional players: Schwarber, Carmelo, Kane, Hester

If you are ever unsure of my feelings toward a player, in any sport, reference this guide.

Not even close to fair to have Kane in that list.

I once accused a man of being a shitty father because his son climbed on my lap once.

I'm not a fair person.
