Yikes!

This is particularly naive and childlike logic. You realize how easily you can twist this type of logic to any conclusion you want, right?

Their defense hasn’t allowed 40 points yet this year. 49ers had a pick six today and another INT returned to the 30. Before today the most any team scored against them was 37, a game where Bortles again threw a pick 6.

But keep judging a team based on their worst performance of the season.

My apologies they allowed 37 pts to the 5-10 49ers.

So how many of these performances are they allowed to have this season and still be considered dominant?

Against Tenn was considered to be an early season fluke. So what is this one? They gave up a ton of points to a team that beat the Bears by 1 pt with 5 FGs.

They are not even close to as good as the 13 Seahawks and the 15 Bronocos and they do not belong in the same sentence as the 2000 Ravens or 2002 Bucs

So... you do understand that a pick 6 isn’t points against the defense right?

They still are giving up less passing yards, TDs, and points then the 15 Broncos while allowing a worse QB rating.

But hey, dominant defenses can’t have bad games. Guess Marino proved the ‘85 Bears D wasn’t dominant.

Yes, that is why I said they gave up 37 instead of 44.

So again, how many bad performances are they allowed to have and still be considered dominant?

The Bears had a bad night against one of the greatest QBs of all time and a team that was a legit Superbowl contender. The Jags had a bad performance against an awful team with a QB that has been a lifetime backup. Surely you see the difference.

If you think the 49ers have been awful with Jimmy G you haven’t been paying attention this season. Could also explain why you need someone to explain to you how the Jaguars are dominant defensively despite them being number 1 across the board.

Yes I need someone to explain to me that they are #1 across the board yet 19th in rushing yds allowed per game.

And I do get the childlike logic deal as well, just read it from you

Well if you need help figuring out why a defense that is number 1 in PA, pass yards, sacks, and turnovers is dominant, I think you might want to just follow another sport. We’re already too far behind to catch you up.

The Steelers lost to the Bears. By rfdc logic I guess this means they aren’t a good team!

The Rams only scored 7 points in one of their games this year. It’s unfortunate we can no longer say they were a good offense this year.

Jags gave up 209 points this year so far. Best in the league. Next best team has given up 240 something. That means the Jags have given up about six touchdowns less than the next best team. Pretty good.

You stated they were #1 across the board when that has been shown to be incorrect now about 4 times. Continue believing they are #1 across the board, when they aren't.

My position has been very clear. They are not the best defense that the league has seen since 2002. They have been a really good defense this year. Just not as good as the 13 Seawhawks and 15 Broncos.

But hey at least I guess you are making progress in this argument deal. You have only stated I am not paying attention or need to follow another sport instead of your normal response of I must not be watching the games. So thats good.

I have never stated they were not pretty good.

Just not the best we have seen since 2002.

Well we disagree on what constitutes bad. I don’t think their defense played bad today and in week 2. When the offense combines for 8 turnovers and 2 pick sixes in two games I think it’s fair to take that into account when looking at points given up.

The 2015 Broncos were one of the best defenses in modern history and this Jags team is allowing less points per game STILL. Like I said, if that’s not dominant then nothing really is.

I guess at the end of the day it’s just a semantics debate. If you’re the best in the world at something I consider that dominant.

No guys are still hung up on the.meaningless breakdown of defense into passing vs rushing yards. Doesn't mean much overall.

You doubters will see just how dominant this Defense is, Big Ben goes down under intense pressure and 2 bad picks.

Jags 17
Pittsburgh 13

Agree. Big Ben will give it up a few times today resulting in easy scores for Jax. Bortles won’t have to be good working with a short field.

Who would have thought the final 4 would be

Keenum
Bortles
Foles
Brady

Jags can get it done today, knock the dogshit out of Brady and mug the receivers at the line..take away the quick screens and slants..

Will be a close game imo. Pats by 3.

Vikings/Eagles could wind up being a really boring game. Not sure who to go with here. A shame Wentz went down.

I'll say Vikings because I kinda want to see them host the SB lol

I sense some sarcasm here but still..Not a very dominant/All Time Great performance against the Steelers.

I am curious to see where people put them if they wind up winning an SB this year tho. They do carry the team for the most part.

Patriots win by 13 or more.

I'd love to be wrong, though, and see that smarmy big-toothed fuck Brady completely eviscerated.
