This looks to be a deep draft with the strength easily on the High School side. This class is strong and deep with arms and there are some very good bats throughout. The College pitching is mostly top heavy and the hitters are down yet again. Here are some of the top guys:

Brady Singer RHP Florida: Video game stuff but command and arm action are a question

Brice Turang SS Santiago HS Cali: Top of the order hitter who will stay at SS

Ethan Hankins RHP Foresyth HS Georgia: Plus stuff w/advanced feel to pitch

Matt Libatore Mountain Ridge HS Arizona: Keeps getting better and the curveball is already plus

Nander De Sedas SS Montverde HS Florida: Switch hitter w/juice from both sides. Will stay at SS

Shane McClanahan LHP South Florida: TJ guy. Stuff plays up w/deception

Nolan Gorman 3B Sandra Day HS Arizona: Big time power potential Should stay at 3B

Griffin Conine OF Duke: Manages the strike zone well. Should hit for power

Kumar Rocker RHP North Ocone HS Georgia: Huge power arm could wind up a reliver

Jared Kelenic OF Waukesha HS Wisconsin: The franchise can do it all

Others:

Nick Madgrigal SS Oregon St
Ryan Weathers LHP Lorretto TN HS
Will Banfield C Brookwood GA HS
Carter Stewart RHP Eau Gallie FL HS
Casey Mize RHP Auburn
Tristan Pompay OF Kentucky
Tristan Casas 1B American Heritage HS FL
Jackson Kower RHP Florida
Mason Denaburg RHP/C Merritt Island HS FL
Ryan Rolison LHP Mississippi

2nd-3rd. He has excellent feel to hit and he should stay in CF but there's not a lot of projectability left.

He’s interesting as hell. He can do a lot of things. The Sox recent draft history has gone away from HS guys. Maybe this is the year that changes.

LHP Shane McClanahan was 93-96 t97 at South Florida’s Scout day.

Dayum. If he has that velocity in the spring he’s gonna go 1-1.

Apparently Isaac Paredes isn't the Tigers shortstop of the future.

Too many baseball players with names like "Brady," "Brice," and "Konner."

"Kumar Rocker" awesome name for a reliever from North Georgia, sounds made up.

The Nordic-surname-as-Dominican-given-name phenomenon is a strange but enjoyable one. All these dudes named "Gustafson Velazquez" and stuff.

He's a Kenley Jansen clone. He's got a chance to be a starter because it's really easy he can spin it and he can command it but it might just be too easy to drop him in the pen and let him dominate from the get go. Either way it's really fuckin good.

Quote:
Dear Prudence,
My wife and I were elated to find out we are going to have a daughter! We decided to discuss names last week and gave ourselves three days to prepare our ideas. I spent a ton of time on this and even put together a presentation with each name and the reasons I liked them. I chose some important family names and some special names from literature and the arts—all of which I think would be beautiful. My wife showed up with a few names scribbled on the back of a grocery list as if she hardly even cared! Also her ideas were trashy misspelled names like Lauryn and Bethonie and 18th-century presidents’ names like Madison, Taylor, and Polk. I was so disappointed in my wife for not taking this seriously, as I feel it is very important. Honestly, this episode has me questioning the foundation of our relationship, let alone raising a child together. Obviously, I can’t just leave now because I am committed to the child, but how can my wife and I get past this major red flag in our relationship? I have tried to discuss it with her and she doesn’t even think she has done anything wrong, so we are at a major impasse.

I bet there's some little shit named Polk in every preschool in Brooklyn.

Polk would be an unfortunate name for a girl during her high school years

Brady Singer and Jackson Kowar were both 93-97 at Florida's scrimmage yesterday. Kowar showed good fastball command which is huge for him. He checks all the other boxes and if he shows that improved command in the spring he'll move in the top 10 and possibly the top 5.

It really makes no sense. 40% of the playoff teams need a competitive balance??

I saw a very interesting comment Rick Hahn made at Soxfest this weekend but Unfortunately I can’t seem to find it again to quote it. Hahn suggested the Sox are in on HS infielders at the top of the draft. The Sox have recently been very college heavy in the first round (orders from Riensdorf) and it’s nice to hear they are open to drafting a HS player. It would be fantastic if SS Brice Turang were to fall to them though a guy like Nolan Gorman seems to fit the profile they’ve been targeting lately. He’s a corner with massive raw power. Nander De Sedes could be in play too.

I saw the quote of twitter. Thought he said high school position players but college arms.

LHP Shane McClanahan’s first pitch of spring practice on Friday was 99 mph and sat 97-99 in the first inning.

Damn Son. Dude’s coming out hot. If he holds that during the season that’s 1-1 stuff right there.

Please tell me that isn't Jeff Conine's kid. I don't want to feel that old.
