Listened for the first time in a while as I drove downtown, and heard a long segment talking about all the 40-8-8 games in NBA playoff history (LeBron had one last night in the loss). Dan said there have been 25 all time and that LeBron has 11 of them. He then asked McKnight to list as many other players he could who had at least one.

Um, Wilt? (No)
Um, Kobe? (No)
Um, Magic? (Once)
Ok, I give up...list them.

Dan: Ok, Jordan had 4...

You'd think Jordan would have been an early guess (if not the first) but

They then replayed an argument that Les and Herbie had last night where Herbie said LeBron's game was the "most efficient" he's even seen in the playoffs and Les countered that it wasn't as good as Jordan's 55 in a winning effort against Phoenix. DB proceeded to make fun of Les, as if Herbie was now the arbiter of all-time greatness.

I think Jordan's teammates always knew the score at least.

Yeah, of course they mentioned that as additional proof that LeBron doesn't have a supporting cast. Kevin Love was mentioned as an all-star and I could actually see Dan rolling his eyes through my radio.

I like LeBron and think he is amazing. A word I never use on here. I just don't want to see him close in on 6 rings.

Kevin Love is a token all star. He was a legit all star in Minnesota.

kevin love was such a liability on defense in the 4th qtr last night. Is fighting through screens just no longer done in the NBA? everyone seems to be fine with switching bigs on guards

This is how you get to the "LeBron has no one" level. You just say things like this.

Doesn't LeBron make his teammates better?

It was funny listening to Dan ask an NBA expert whether they should look to get Kyle Korver more playing to time to try to "shoot their way back into a game" and the guy summarily dismissed that thought.

I don't know what the first part of your post means. LBJ does make his teammates better - without him that roster wouldn't win more than 20 games.

There is an objective case to be made that the Cleveland roster is inferior to GS' roster. Don't see how that could not be the case.

Does Cleveland's roster (without LeBron) stand a chance against the Bulls at full strength?

Kevin Love shows up to play with LeBron and suddenly becomes not nearly as good as he supposedly was. The same thing happened with Bosh, and eventually Wade.

I'm sure that is true, especially since they got rid of Kyrie because he and LeBron didn't want to play together until after the trade and then supposedly LeBron was going to "work it out" with him.

Kevin Love is a decent piece but not enough when you're going up against GS. Curry, Klay, and Durant crush LBJ and Love.

Not sure what you meant by working it out with Irving. Irving demanded the trade and he got what he wanted. He's now sitting someplace watching LBJ play in the finals, just like the rest of the East has done for eight years straight.

Kevin Love was never great. He was a stat compiler on a bad team. On a teally good team, he's probably a 3rd option.

Since the best teams now routinely feature three all stars I agree he’s probably a 3rd option. He’s always been a very good player and legitimate all star though.

Three all stars isn't a new thing. This is the crux of our disagreement.

LeBron has controlled every move in Miami and then in Cleveland. It's obvious that LeBron was happy that Irving was getting sent away too.

What I meant about working it out, there was a report from Cleveland that LeBron claimed he would "work it out" with Irving and Cleveland decided to trade him against his wishes. https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/celtics/2018/05/31/lebron-james-says-asked-cavaliers-not-trade-kyrie-irving/fgS1R5K9LxxArOT6XtaWQP/story.html

Hey guys...

Lebron was once disrespectful to one of his Junior High coaches. Jordan never would have done that.

It’s a new thing since the league expanded to 30 teams to have 3-4 of them have 3-4 all stars each.

Lebron forgot to water his mom's plants when she was out of town once. Jordan never would have done that.

Here are Jordan's stats in the finals when he was 33:

FG% 3% FT% MPG PPG RPG ASP SPG BPG
.415 .316 .836 42.0 27.3 5.3 4.2 1.7 0.2

I'll be curious to see what Lebron's are.

lebron has a team that has 7 guys who put up over 9 pts a game this season. scoring isn't everything but he's got 3 good rebounders, decent defenders, a handful of 3pt specialists. this lebron has noone stuff is absurd in my opinion.

I wouldn't say he has "no one", but without him, this team probably wins 20 games. He has some players that compliment him well, specifically 3-point shooters who would be ineffective without him.

You have to be willfully ignorant to not only not have Jordan be one of your guesses but to "give up" without naming him. That's just embarrasing.

Les and Herb has to be gun-in-the-mouth radio. Good Lord.

The team is also hamstrung by the contracts of Thompson and JR Smith, who are repped by Lebron's high school friend Rich Paul, and who got very nice contracts from the Cavs. I'm sure it was just a coincidence though.

No one is arguing that Lebron is a great GM. I am judging strictly based on his play.

He didn't handpick everyone. He didn't trade for a.gimp PG or trade that gimp for a player who can't even get off the bench in the finals. That being said he still elevated everyone to get to where they are.
