I was in a cessna 310 that had an engine stall out and not start back up. the pilot continued on his way like it didn't matter and we flew back to the local airport. that day i learned that a duel prop plane has redundancy every where.

Airbus wins again. I try to seek out Airbus when booking, just a better flying experience.

I'm not really concerned, it was tongue in cheek.

the 'scare bus'. airbus uses composite fibers for lighter aircraft, which allows for one additional row of seats. this was scorned..profits over safety was argued. when an aa a300 crashed in new york after take-off, it ended up being airbus flight engineers vs. american flight engineers. the flight ran into severe wake turbulence on take-off, the co-pilot played with the rudder (as trained)..and the tail fell off. airbus argued that the co-pilot put undue stress on the rudder/tail...the opposite argument was that your aircraft are shit.

'if it's not boeing, i ain't going'. boeing deservedly getting slammed for the 737-max...a plane that is arguably design-flawed, the rushed and sloppy software, lax and lack of uniformed pilot training around the world with the software/scenarios. seems like the overall safety of airline travel bred a hubris of complacency.

i had learned that the boeing 727 was rolled during tests. imagine that, a plane flying upside down. they don't make them like they used to.

united technologies used to make aircraft engines. they got bought out by GE. now, only a few major players..GE, rolls-royce, pratt & whitney and cfm. with this united 777 incident, looks like pratt & whitney engines on 777s are under scrutiny.

The 777 has been flying for over 25 years with only no fatalities blamed on the aircraft itself. The 3 fatal incidents were a shootdown, a likely hijacking by 1 of the pilots, and a case of CFIT where Asiana pilots went too short on their approach into SFO.

I'd board any 777 without second thought.

That Asiana one pissed me off. When you hear the GPWS say "sink rate" and "pull up" on descent, you need to adjust your approach or go around.

Same for me. Was on a 25 seater or so in the African country of Chad returning from an oilfield. As we were taking off, one engine has low oil pressure and high torque readings. Pilot did a U turn and brought it back. Said we could have continued on but rules state we needed to return. Had to stay the night in a hotel where the oil company paid for rooms, food, drinks. There guys coming off of 28 days in camp so they were cutting loose. Pilot and copilot flew the plane back the next day.

I realize I am putting on a tinfoil hat here, but this is a strange "coincidence".
