CJ Stroud must be wondering what happened. Last anyone saw him play he lit up the best defense in college for 350 yards on 23/34 with 4 TD's and no picks. Ever since then his draft stock has steadily collapsed, to the point now he might not even get picked in the 1st round. Although I think if/as Stroud falls, some team will pull a Bears and trade up to draft an always-suss tOSU QB.

Witherspoon 1st off the board for dbacks? Seems undersized but apparently teams love his story.

It was tough ranking him because he had a Hurts like game on the big stage.

And here we go: the annual QB who absolutely nobody spoke of at any time from the beginning of the CFB season up to the combine shoots toward the top of the pile from apparent random buzz that snowballs out of control, while the guy in that spot previously inexplicably falls down the charts due to a low arbitrary test score.

Shocking.

These are my rankings. I had Levis #1 a couple of months ago. After seeing Young's footwork in the pocket, I am no longer convinced he'll die.

Nobody knows anything when it comes to drafting QB's. I still think teams would do well to pay the Jets a consulting fee to tell them which QB they'd take in the 1st round from the still available selections--and then pick any other QB.

This is why I can’t buy that the Bears got max value for 1/1.

Kancey is no worse than Carter's equal and there are questions about him bailing on his teammates.

Yeah, but there’s been a lot of chatter in the last week all of a sudden, when there was practically none previously. Frankly, I have no idea why he is projected over anyone else on your top 6.

This seems to happen leading up to every draft…but this year, why him over all the others? He’s not that impressive.

He smartly had an 11th hour pro day. His physical tools are off the charts. I think playing with shit talent has prepared him for the NFL more than any of the top quarterbacks in this draft. The kid is tough as hell too.

The comp I've seen most often for Will Levis is MItch (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky could only dream to have that arm talent and he wasn't as tough as Levis. They're similar athletically, but Levis is built more like a Josh Allen and younger Ben.

Not a great QB draft, not even a good one, so you did exactly what you should have done and worked with a GM that was willing to roll the dice on a guy with tons of question marks. If Will Levis slides to #9 you just have to find a GM that feels the same way Nas does and you can get another bunch of picks.

If you trade back and pick up another second you have turned the #1 pick into a starting WR, two extra seconds this year and an extra first next year, likely four starters, with the potential to do it again next year if the Carolina pick is top 5.

read the draft analysis going all the way back to the day after the 2022 draft. Levis has always been in the conversation.

He has a big arm, good size, can take a pounding and played with no one. His best football is ahead of him. I comp him to Favre.

QB
I like you being bullish on Clayton Tune. Stetson Bennett will be a mercy pick in the 7th if drafted at all. You don't even have Tanner Mc Kee. CJ Stroud is going to be fine.

TE
Washington isn't even in the same league as Kincaid. I think he will be slow to learn the position because he's going to be the type who has to block a lot. He'll be a red zone target his first couple of years. I think Kincaid is an immediate impact TE.

T
you have broderick jones way too low. This group gets average very quickly but he is not in the average group. Skoronski is the best lineman. He's the only guy you don't have to project to find a future star player. Dawand Jones is just big. I guess you can put him at right tackle for life but he's not the third best lineman.

IOL
i think you are underrating the centers. Vorhees tore up his knee in draft prep, so who knows what he is.

DT
GTFO with Kancey. He's a one way player as a 3T. Rush the passer. I think Tuli is too light for the interior. I have my eye on Karl Brooks for the Bears 3T

Poor man’s Cutler, who incidentally, was somewhat of a poor man’s Favre.

That may make Levis a homeless man’s Favre. TBD.

Minooka making it sound like Levis just came out of nowhere though, is just not true. Like GD said, he has been talked about for over a year.

For sure. And the comps to Cutty have been there for a while, both in terms of game play and this draft. It’s kind of like Cutty rising during the pre draft process in the Young/Leinart draft.

Levis will probably end up the best out of the group.

Stetson Bennett ahead of Max Duggan was an outrage. I stopped reading at that point.

somebody on reddit claiming to work in the league office leaked the draft selections for QB's:

Clayton Tune - 5th round to the Seachickens
Jake Haener - 5th round to the Fudgepackers
Jaren Hall - 4th round to B'More
Dorian Thompson-Robinson (crap name for a QB) 4th round to the Viqueens
Raiders: round 3 Tanner McKee
Hendon Hooker, 1st round to Texans
Will Levis 1st round to Tampa Bay
Colts taking AR-15 at #4
Titans trade up and take Stroud
Bryce Young - Carolina 1/1

5 QB's in the 1st round--over on the 4.5 QB's selected in RD 1 prop.

Same thing happen to fields. Fields balled out against Clemson/Lawerence spending the entire year as qb2 in college. Then between January and April fell to the Bears.
