I don't know why the Wolves gave up on Jefferson

To be the centerpiece of the KG trade and then for him to leave would be odd

But looks like he's headed to the Jazz for pretty much nothing, just a salary dump and maybe a pick or two

I don't get it either bagels, Jefferson has always seemed like a real nice player. He should be a good fit for the Jazz now that they are without Boozer.

I don't get it either. I know him and Love are pretty much the same guy but they must believe he won't be the same player he was prior to getting injured. I know the Lakers are glad the Mavs didn't get him.

I think he and Love could play in the frontcourt together. The article I read for some reason claimed the Wolves reasoning was that there was a logjam in the frontcourt...never mind that they caused it by trading for Beasley and signing some other buster forward or center. But yeah, the injury concern is all I could think of realistically

The deal is done. They sent 2 first round picks and the trade exception.

Is Utah also trying to sign Richard Jefferson?

Bobcats trade Tyson Chandler to Mavs for Dampier, Najera, and Matt Carroll.

So MJ passes up on the Raptors trade for this. Looks like he still has the touch. Where is Kwame Brown?

Its crazy. The Toronto trade actually seemed like a good one for the Bobcats, but this seems like an awful one for the Bobcats.

It is. They would be better off keeping Chandler.

RE: Al Jefferson - I dont disagree with you guys necessarily but he's pretty horrible defensively. He's not a better player than Boozer, Utah will still be worse next year and in the future.

I thought he was good defensively. At the very least he is an upgrade over Boozer defensively.

He's not bad defensively but he's too short

I think Utah will be fine (about what they have been) with a healthy Jefferson and Millsap.

My assumption is that they could still use another scorer or two with Korver and Matthews (likely gone) not there.

I like him. How likely is it that Melo passes on the 3 year $65M extension so he can be near his wife in NY? I honestly wouldn't consider that a bad decision.

I dont know if his wife will factor into the decision, but you gotta kinda figure that Denver is about as far as they can go. They wont win a title with this core. I wouldnt blame Melo for leaving. If he leaves for NY that'll just be funny.

 A team featuring Amare and Carmelo with max contracts will not win a title.

Yeah he is. With the right Alpha in place he could definitely be the 2nd best player on a championship team. I'm not positive Amare can even be the third. I wouldnt be worried about the Knicks whatsoever if they featured Melo, Amare, and role players.

I guess it'd depend. It certainly wouldnt be as good as the Heat's big three, but offensively it would. It'd depend on who else they got to surround those three. I have much more faith in Pat Riley than Donnie Walsh or, god forbid, Isiah Thomas.

Melo isn't an alpha? It pains me to admit this but he is probably the clutchest player in the NBA. The guy makes over 50% of his last second shot attempts. I'm in complete agreement on Amare though. Maybe the press in NY will light a fire under him.

Donnie Walsh did a great job in Indiana.

So Gerald Green is back in the league after playing in Russia last year. Ftw? Now he and D.J Strawberry are both trying to make the Lakers already loaded team by playing for their summer league squad.

After 2 summer league games John Wall is averaging 21pts, 9ast, and 3.5 stls.

Demarcus Cousins is at 16.5 points and 11 boards after 2 games.

Every meatball's fav shooter Jon Scheyer is currently on the Heat Summer league team. He dropped 11 in a loss to Golden State.

So I had forgotten the clippers drafted one of the main guys from the Greece national team that beat team USA in qualifying 3 years ago. The only loss the Redeem team had was at the hands of Greece. Sofoklis “Baby Shaq” Schortsanitis is his name and he weighs 340+lbs.

Can't believe the Clippers would even put Blake Griffin on their summer league roster. He didnt play in their 1st game, but he's listed as part of their summer league roster.

Bulls got beat up by Denver in their 1st summer league game 99-71.

Some dude named Reggie Williams has played 4 games for the Golden State summer league team, and is leading the entire SL in ppg at 23.8. The guy's from VMI (Virgina Military Institute), and he's 24. That's all I know.

He did a good job. What's he doin in NY so far? And he might bring back Isiah? I'd trust Riley to build a team from scratch over Walsh anyday.

He's extremely clutch and one of the top 2-3 scorers in the league. But he's a great defender and he doesnt make his teammates better IMO. You cant be a superstar if you dont have those 2 qualities IMO.
