I’m not sure especially with so many not seeing any of the movies there are enough interested. It’s probably interesting when there are barely any releases movies in general they found enough movie nominees of color. The news told Me that was a big thing this year. Percentage goals or some shit.

I've only heard of a couple of these movies and almost none of the actors/actresses/actx. I'm old. Used to be good stuff, I haven't seen much since about 2000 or so. I should go back and watch some I guess but the older movies seem so much better. Or again maybe I'm just old.

I watched about 15 minutes of the absolute vomit-inducing pre-show with Mrs. Meatball, and had to break away to mess with my guitars about 5 minutes after the main show started.

Even if you set aside the (even moreso than usual) over-the-top fawning, politics/SJW, and the interminably long acceptance speeches, here's what's really shocking about this year's show:

They're NOT SHOWING ANY CLIPS.

What the hell? OK, so if I haven't seen any of these movies already, I probably never will, BUT you would think that they would AT LEAST show clips of the nominees to garner them some extra attention, and for some, gain a post-Oscar bump. Not this year.

I predict it will be the lowest-rated and most maligned Oscars ever.

This was terrible. Even the In Memoriam segment was a joke.

The ending was a disaster...for some reason, Best Actor was last, and after Hopkins was announced as winner, Phoenix said “The Academy accepts the award on his behalf,” and then they cut to the DJ who said the show was over.
