Seems likely that Vrabel ends up in New England but bringing him and Derrick Henry in would give you an identity on offense and is an intriguing option.

What’s the goal here? Vrabel is a good coach but build an offense around a RB on the wrong side of 30?

The RB room is not a problem. Herbert has an elite YPC. Roschon Johnson was starting to show what we heard from training camp reports. Probably need to replace D'Onta with a better speed guy.

Mel Kiper thought we could get the #8 pick from Atlanta for Fields. Sold!

I dont believe that. But if that is true that deal should be done immediately

It's clear that any job opportunity with a bad QB is likely a path to being fired in three years or less. Therefore, there's probably no opportunity better than San Diego or with whichever team drafts the top 2-3 QBs from this class.

I have another proposal

Justin Fields and #9 to NE

#3 and #34 to Chi

Assuming the Bears are taking Williams and Washington takes Maye, I think Fields is the better option to Daniels for NE future. Pats still keep a high first rounder AND their QB.

So Fields was picked 11th in 2021, but after three mediocre or worse years in the NFL he is now worth the 8th pick in the 2024 draft?

Make it happen, Poles!

Well clearly that would be amazing. Williams at 1. MJH at 3. And then can get a C or edge at 34. Sign me up. But that will never happen. But it is fun to dream

New England has a massive rebuilding project on its hands. If anything, they will seek to accumulate additional draft picks this year and next rather than trade picks away for failed first-round picks of the past.

I swear it seems this board is populated by simpletons, ok, well here we go.

What is the teams identity right now on offense, I am sure you recognize it's an outside zone scheme? What do you need to run an outside zone scheme effectively...a back that can on cut and go, a bigger back gives you the inside threat, and Henry would give you a guy that meets that need while providing depth in the backfield.

Now lets get to the second phase of the outside zone scheme which is holding the D for a split second to allow routes to open, one on one coverage allowing for the deep shots the offense is supposed to open up, and more importantly give your QB a better chance to read the DE and give/keep, now even an astutue football genius like yourself likely will admit that teams did not respect play action and the DE was always keeping outside leverage to limit the QB outside run game.

Ok, so now that you actually understand the type of offense they are trying to run, and the keys your QB should be looking at maybe you give a more informed opinion next time instead of exposing your lack of football accumen.

Just checked NFL RB ratings, Henry is top 5 on most sites and Herbert is anywhere from 25-30, even a trained monkey can see that Henry is a better player, but we have a ton of in town stupid posters here.

If you really think that Henry would not be an upgrade to your RB room then I really cannot help you.

Maybe I can dumb it down even more by asking this, who would you respect more on a third and one play action fake, Henry or Herbert, that should be simple enough for even the most football challenged board members to understand.

Henry is 30. Do I really need to explain to you the process of aging and football, especially when it comes to running backs?

Nah, he is a manager and a def coordinator. He will hire a new def co to take off some of the load and Poles will hire an offensive staff for him. Next year will be fine then decide the future.

And then if it doesn’t work, they’ll either have another highly picked QB going into a new offense in year 2 or Justin Fields going into year 5 with his 4th different offense.

Wow, this will be the 13th offensive coordinator in 26 seasons for the Bears, nice work.

Fields is worth at most the 34 by himself. So what are you adding to the 9 to get up to 3?

Fields will fetch a 3rd at best. All of your proposals that have Fields bringing back a future first, or even second are just simply absurd. If he had any value, the Bears wouldn't be trading him in the first place.
