I truly think he is. I mean, think about it;

They showed the graphic for all us Cubs fans to see. First three at bats, 16 pitches. Doing. His. Job as a leadoff man. Then, down two runs late, KABOOM!!!! Ambushes the first pitch when down two runs with a three run jack vs your arch rival.

Special kind of hitter. No?

He certainly seems to have special talent, but he needs to stay healthy for several seasons for it to mean a lot. It was great that he came back from his knee injury just in time to help the Cubs win the World Series in 2016, but to be remembered as a generational talent, he will have to log several full seasons of exceptional production. I believe he can do that.....if he stays healthy.

Of course he is. He was still injured and rusty and had a great WS on the road.

The greatest .245 hitter in baseball history.

He won't come close to Carlos Lee's career numbers.

Yep. Bryzzo was yesterday's news. We've moved on to Schwendricks.

So far,Shwarbs can be compared to a less stubby Matt Stairs.

The consensus is that he lacks power or (and don't forget the or) he is still injured.

He should be better than Vance Law. The point is, if you could lock Schwarber's career numbers in right now as the same as Carlos Lee's most Cub fans wouldn't do that. Lee has nearly 1400 career RBI.

RBI is a team stat because there is no such thing as clutch.

Not quite as fast as Sosa's at the end of '04.

Yeah,but what's his ball speed off the bat on a check swing with the wind blowing out against a transgender left handed pitcher in Wrigley on a Thursday night?

He'll be so much more valuable once the DH comes to the National League.

JORR is correct with the Carlos Lee comp. Lee's career averages , .285 28 HR's 105RBI's .339/.483/.821

If Schwarber can average that stat line Id be ecstatic and I don't think he'll ever hit for that high a batting average consistently.
