We didn't take calls on Northwestern. We didn't break down keys to the Minnesota game. We talked to their head coach, a local-boy-made-good who also captained the most historic team in school history.
The Bulls are tanking.
The Blackhawks are vanishing like a fart in the wind (happy birthday Warden Norton, BTW).

You could say a low percentage of our potential audience covets these topics. Therefore, we'll do all of it and attempt to entertain and do so sans apology.
I don't dread late January, February and the tedious nature of spring training, 2019. It's also Oscars season and I will watch every Best Picture nominee before the awards.
All are welcome to listen. Or not.
You undoubtedly don't take calls because no one actually cares about NU football or basketball despite all the media blow jobs they get from NU alums in the media.
The fact is there are more opposing team fans at their home games than NU fans. That the student section was not full against ND was even mentioned on the broadcast that evening. It is also a fact that NU is offering student lis free tickets and transportation to the Big10. The rich fuck students cant be bothered to go to Indy, apparently. You could ask Fritzee why the students don't support the program, but why agitate a sponsor? Instead you guys just slobber over a coach who can't beat MAC teams or Duke. Its awesome that that NU is the tallest midget in the Big10 West. Great story that no one cares about.
NU student population and alumni base is a fraction of that of the rest of the big ten. Northwestern is also the only private school so while the rest of the big ten has a student population that was born and bred to love their state school's program, Northwestern students are new to their affiliation. Also, I imagine that Chicago is the #1 landing spot for graduates of each of the big ten schools (except for Michigan and the new east coast members) while New York is probably #1 for NU grads.
That said, you are correct. NU students have tepid interest as does the Chicago community but there is SOME interest and it is worthy of discussion
