that looks ridiculously terrible on many levels.

For one, the zombies look like crap. Like actors with just a bit of makeup on.

Second, I fucking hate fast, smart zombies. Takes ALL the fun out of the fantasy. Slow moving, but relentless zombies in overwhelming numbers are way more interesting to me.

Third, the whole premise makes no sense. Why would you need money in a zombie apocalypse? Seriously, that needs to be explained.

Fourth, it comes from a director who has a history of making shitty movies when it comes to coherent story telling.

it kind of looked to me like the zombies were all contained in Las Vegas, and they needed to get in to get the money and then get back out.

I was thinking maybe that was it as well, but it still doesn't make a lot of sense. If all the zombies were contained in one place don't you think the government would be dropping bombs on them or maybe sending in more than 8 people to finish the job?

I take my zombie narratives very seriously. Maybe too seriously some might argue.

100% agree with this. When the Covid vaccine starts turning us into zombies, if it's fast and smart zombies, we're all dead. With slow mindless zombies, I can at least imagine a world where I'm walking around with a crossbow and/or sword.

Yes walkers would be much more preferential the day the zombie apocalypse happens.

Yep. I think there was some teen emo zombie romance that I didn't bother to watch but I can't remember one that I have hated.

“Warm Bodies”

Yeah that was during the zombie comedy phase Hollywood went through for about a decade after some film executive watched “Shaun of the Dead”.

This movie is like a fever dream.

So much cool shit going on.

Not perfect, but a lot of fun.

watched it, it was pretty bad.

I will say the opening credits scene was possibly the coolest opening credit scene I've ever seen. It was like a movie within a movie. I actually felt bad when the female character who we met 3 minutes earlier, died in the opening credits. From there the movie went downhill.

some good zombie action scenes, but that's it.

The last 20 minutes were especially stupid.

  out of

It’s too bad you didn’t like it Shakes.

I’m a Snyder fanboy, so my reviews of his movies will always be biased.

what even happened to the lady the dumbass daughter was trying to save? She was in the front seat of the helicopter with the pilot. Then it crashed and it looked like the pilot was killed by a beam or something that went thruogh the cockpit, but I didn't see any evidence of the lady dying or not dying. It was as if Snyder forgot about that part of the plot.

Don't know how anyone can be a Snyder fanboy. he's pretty much objectionably terrible. Especially when it comes to telling a coherent story. With this movie it seemed as if he just said screw it, who cares if somethings make no sense it's a zombie movie, people will just laugh off any poor storytelling as "it's a zombie movie what do you expect".

That’s unfortunate.

I still enjoyed it both times I watched.

Even bigger, they never told the story of what these intelligent zombies do when holding non zombified humans hostage. There was some hint that they made them a hybrid but there was not confirmation

Well there is going to be an animated prequel series, and a separate live action movie about the German safe cracker before he took part in this heist.

Also, did you guys notice the UFOs at the beginning, the Android zombies, and the corpses with the same clothes on in the room where the safe was?

Lots of interesting things to explore in the coming years while expanding this universe.

You can’t find me a better 14 minutes to open any movie ever than this one.

On that point I 100% agree with you. Already posted about it in this thread June 4. Although just off the top of my head there's Saving Private Ryan so there's that.
