Reiner has confirmed a sequel is underway, starring the original three stars (Guest, McKean, Shearer) as well as Paul McCartney and Elton John. Too bad Tony Hendra (manager Ian Faith) passed away a few years ago.

They should use the exact same script and record in HD so we can actually understand what they are saying.

I have the Criterion Collection DVD, which used to be worth a lot because it has the original subtitles and is out of print. Not sure if that’s still the case. [Edit: looks like only about $80-100 on eBay]

I rented that at a DVD store about 25 years ago; they had a whole Criterion Collection section that you could rent from, out of print or not.

I bought it when MGM mass released it but was disappointed it had left out some stuff from the CC release (which itself I believe was just a reissue from the laserdisc).

Spinal Tap isn't that entertaining and is one of the most overrated movies of the past 50 years. It's good for a few sporadic chuckles and a couple of guffaws here and there, but that's about it.

I'm a sucker for the mockumentary genre.

My favorite scene is the midgets dancing around stonehenge.

Well Spinal Tap like Holy Grail or even Austin Powers needs a certain younger person's to view it now. It is like a favorite sweatshirt that just doesn't cut it anymore. I doubt tons of people our age will go see it and younger people have no idea what the jokes mean.
