Some people email One Step , others @Marianos trying to get their employees fired for not wearing a mask or @ the Bar Association trying to get a lawyer disbarred because they disagree with a social media post . C’est la vie.

As I've pointed out before, people's largest complaints about "cancel culture" was if they agreed with the person getting cancelled or not.

Also it makes a difference if the person complaining is a giant idiot like BRogue

Not really. I'm against cancel culture but it makes me laugh my ass off when a leading proponent of it gets canceled himself.

I listened to the score for 2 reasons....chicago sports discussion and the interesting hosts being fun enough to make things palpable. the latter disappeared for good with Terry retiring. I'm only a cubs fan and bulls fan so apparently the sports discussion wasn't enough to keep me listening to a team of hosts who were/are largely boring. funny was substituted with serious and I have enough of that in my life.

I think the Penn st stuff sucked all the "fun" air out of B&B. Dan is old now and I think everyone walks on eggshells for who to hire as hosts now. oh we found this interesting person... "um yeah but did you see what they tweeted about burmese people in 2017?" So its just boring takes after boring takes.

And that's why I gravitated away from terrestrial radio to instead consuming a lot of Barstool content in the later 2010s like PMT, Chicklets, and what is now The Stretch. It's people talking sports, having fun, and not taking anything too seriously.

I know people joke about hate listening to Bernstein, but he hasn't even been entertaining enough to hate listen to for the last 5+ years. His current form is about as entertaining as an NPR newscast.

It’s kind of funny that Cowley was disciplined for questioning the abilities of female pilots.

If Dan is an asshole for believing in cancel culture, then doesnt that also make you an asshole? You both believe in the same thing.

His 2nd firing was probably for the best as he had basically become a shadow of his former self during Covid.

This “don’t cancel the cancelers” line of thought is the latest iteration of the unilateral disarmament argument, wherein one is expected to act in line with certain principles while another is given free reign to be an asshole.

Can’t work that way. The anti-canceler has to be allowed the ability to use the canceler’s rules against him. That’s how society works; otherwise you’re forcing the anti-canceler into being a perma-pussy.

Does that make the anti-canceler a dick? Maybe. But dicks fuck assholes.

none of the losers on this board cheering about getting Bernstein removed from a children's cancer charity have been cancelled. They're just being assholes, like Bernstein. The difference here is Bernstein is the only one with skin in the game. The middle aged men here excitedly posting about how they won a battle have maybe impacted a charity's ability to raise money and made Dan Bernstein feel bad. Congrats to them, they're big time losers.

I think a willingness & desire to shit all over everything defines the asshole. I don’t think that applies to both parties in this case.

You’re misunderstanding the metaphor.

The dick doesn’t have to be the one shat upon to fuck the asshole. The very existence of the asshole invites the dick into being.

"Don't cancel the cancelers" isn't the point. It's that everyone enjoys people they don't like having bad things happen to them. Some people cheered when Tucker Carlson got fired. Some people cheered when Joy Reid got fired. It doesn't make it right or wrong but the outrage on "free speech" or whatever other argument against it was simply because they didn't like it that time but liked it a different time.

 Don't worry Dan, I'll shield your honor with these childhood cancer patients, that'll do the trick!

You're a fucking genius.

how's that radio/podcast career going? aping Bernstein didn't go so well did it?

There's no honor involved in any of this, but again, the huge losers here are celebrating, at best, adversely affecting a cancer charity's ability to raise money.

I like when Tucker Carlson claimed to have the story of the century and then sent the only copy of the evidence in a UPS box and then it was lost.
