blah blah blah. Point went right over your head. We are well aware that we suck and that's why we shoot high scores. Has nothing to do with the reasoning. We want the pros to struggle so they feel like how we feel when we struggle. Only way to do that to a pro is to put them on a tricked out US Open course. No one is saying that us bad golfers would be better if the courses we played weren't so hard and unfair. Literally no one is saying that.

If my post was directed at what you had wrote I would have quoted you, counselor. It was in Golf Digest. They had a poll on the US Open and some knucklehead said "I like it hard so that the pros know what it's like for us".

I had no idea a double-eagle is called an albatross. Just the fourth since the U.S. Open started keeping records in 1983.

1. P. Reed's swing is looking a little different...or maybe it's the angle of the first camera shot.

2. Looks like Reed has lost a little weight, good for him.

3. Unless the announcers are playing fast and loose with the numbers, guys flying 3-wood 270+ and getting the ball to land softly is just bonkers. The rollback can't happen soon enough.

I have one. I'm more proud of that than I am my hole-in-one.

You want to lose distance? I don't.

I don’t like that they have to do goofy shit with courses to create conditions wherein a birdie is a disappointing score on a par 5.

Which is why the rules should be bifurcated. But the USGA refuses to do it.

Should be an interesting day again today. A lot of really good players are still in it, even at a few over par. I was a little surprised to see as many short putts missed as I did yesterday.

be patient, there won't be that many after today, likely fewer after tomorrow, and fewer when it's done.

Brooks pulled amazing very long putts out of his ass. He can’t keep that up here all weekend.

I meant a rollback of what's allowed on the tour and not what you can get in stores. I doubt a lot of tour guys are playing off the shelf balls.

Currently 6 players are under par and that is likely to be far less by days' end. The cut is probably going to be somewhere around +5 to +7.
But hey, you enjoy schlepping your wasted buddy around this weekend!

that was last weekend. What , you think I go on a golf trip every weekend?

This weekend I'm reduced to spending the next two nights banging my hot lady friend while watching NBA and NHL and squeezing in some dog and pickleball time.

Leave the dog out of it.

Just disgusting behavior. Inability to control one’s anger is unbecoming of an Irishman who thinks he’s English.

Saw him throw a club 30 yards down a fairway as well. He really hasn’t played all that well since the Masters win. Not a real great look.

I like it. Golf needs more outbursts of anger.

I for one detest golfing with guys who throw juvenile temper tantrums after their bad shots.

Yeah, sorry about that. It's why I quit. But I never taken it out on the golf course. Never a screamer. I busted clubs in half, usually putters, and threw them in the garbage can. It is embarrassing to walk to the next tee where the foursome in front of you is waiting to tee off with a broken club in your hand. And they are as disgusted as you are.
