I would be happy for Scott. Seems like a great guy.

If Scheffler could even putt close to how he is capable today he would on their heels. Just cannot get a birdie to fall for anything.

I get that they want to finish this today, and changing conditions are part of golf. But it seems unfair to these guys to make them keep playing in these conditions. They may all back into Rahm at +4.

Was talking about this with my buds yesterday. If by all accounts par was going to be the score and the way the last few holes have gone especially, why would you EVER hit driver off the tee where the error is so compounded if you end up in the rough ? Just plunk a 3 wood or anything you can actually hit the fairway with and just play fairway , green, 2 putt golf ? everyone hitting driver in the rough are making bogeys . It’s ridiculously poor course management by these guys now.

The director of this NBC broadcast needs to be fired. I get Scottie is the World #1, but the dude hasn't made anything all day, especially on the back 9, but we get to see ALL of his 20+ footers for birdie while the commentators lament that "well, if he just strings a few together....". Meanwhile we've seen neither hide nor hair of Ortiz and MacIntyre, a smattering of Hatton and the others that are a few shots closer as the leaders retreat back to par, which is FOUR SHOTS BETTER THAN SCHEFFLER.

OMG HE'S 4 BACK ON 17 AND THEY'RE HYPING UP HIS TEE SHOT LIKE IT'S MAKE OR BREAK COME THE FUCK ON.

Tiger deserved this treatment, Scottie doesn't...yet. And shit, even during Tiger's 2018-19 comeback, when he would fade on the final day, they'd show a lot of his shots, but with none of this "well, if Tiger would go eagle, birdie, and double-eagle the tough par 5 18th, the field might come to him..."

NBC with too many split screens away from action. Can’t see anything. Just commercial or not

Mexican guy winning the US Open seems poetic for this weekend. See if ICE deports him after the trophy ceremony.

Isn’t he from San Diego and half Hawaiian?

They just cut to Scheffler watching a monitor in the clubhouse at +4 while at least one player has finished 17 at +1 and faded to commercial with the commentator saying "What. If....."

This can't be just NBC doing this at this point, this is direct from the PGA Tour.

How is Burns in the fairway splashing water up with his practice swings not getting relief from the obvious standing water there?

I generally can’t stand NBC’s golf coverage.

They said the water has to be visible (not just splashing from practice swings).

That winning putt was the longest putt made this week.

Spaun made 3 putts down the stretch that totaled about 100’. Crazy stuff.

I love seeing a journeyman PGA grinder win this, especially after the bad breaks he got on the front 9 and shooting 40.

Yeah good for Spaun. He was looking to be almost relegated to the bin of players like Pat Perez and Joel Dahmen, mid-30s guys who were on TV a good bit and who made the occasional run but could only close out in non-major tournaments under certain conditions. He definitely showed flashes of having a game far and above players like that and it finally culminated in the ultimate prize, good for him. Extra snaps for sinking that bomb on 18 after all the adversity early on.

I think Tirico is really good but then again he’s good at everything he announces .

I still think the main announcer guy NBC has sounds too much like Nance. Also I hate all the nicknames like what do you think Bones? What about that Smiley?

Agreed that the NBC lead is doing a Nantz-lite, but really what do we expect with how Nantz has become synonymous with epic sports calls?

And Bones Mackay has earned his nickname for being such a presence on broadcasts on the course, but I agree Smiley is known by moniker to only the hardcore of golf Fandom. He's a former could-be pro who transitioned to on the course work with a personality not unlike Colt Knost, except Smiley is more of the straight laced country club type to Knost's party animal.

Well, his name is Carter Smylie Kaufman. Lots of people go by their middle name. And Bones? I don't even know his real name, he's always gone by Bones.

Between Rory, the White Sox, and Angel Reese, you sure do spend an inordinate amount of time posting about people and things you dislike.

Not surprised you're a LIV fan.
